Number Your Days & Walk in Freedom
This Sunday’s gathering was filled with the warmth of community, a deeply personal testimony, and a powerful reminder of the freedom we have in Christ.
We opened by lifting Rosie Armstrong and her family in prayer following her recent fall, broken elbow, and successful surgery. Please continue to keep them covered. We also looked ahead to next Sunday’s picnic potluck and other opportunities to serve and connect as a church family, including Men’s Group this Friday evening and upcoming Operation Christmas Child packing.
(Robert)Matthew then shared a moving reflection after the recent home-going of his grandfather. With honesty and gratitude he spoke about the quiet regret of realizing the most recent photo they had together was from 2018—despite spending so much time with one another. Drawing from Psalm 90:12, he challenged us to number our days and intentionally capture the ordinary moments with the people we love: the simple meals, the everyday quirks, the quiet walks. Don’t wait for the “next time.”
The message that followed centered on the prisons many of us live in—prisons of despair, frustration, wrong thinking, and the lies that hold us captive. Through a Spirit-orchestrated conversation and key passages including Luke 4:18-19, Ephesians 6, and 2 Corinthians 10, we were reminded that Jesus came to proclaim liberty to the captives and set the oppressed free. We are called to put on the full armor of God daily, demolish strongholds with spiritual weapons, and live free so the Holy Spirit can use us to bring hope to others right where we are.
Watch the full service and be encouraged: Cherish the people around you today. Step out of any prison that is holding you back. God has placed you where you are for a purpose, and He wants to do a new thing through you.
